We finally went to see the Edward Hopper show at the Whitney (above: New York Movie, 1939), which got me thinking about light themes... In his works, Hopper sculpted the America of the early 20th century in dramatic and luscious color. He was a master of light, inspiring still today...

lately i've been interested in early house music from the mid to late 80's...i like the contrast it presents to the current trends of completely digital music, it's so much simpler due to the early technology but at the same time has so much energy and funk as i think the producers were first and foremost accomplished musicians...
a few expeditions to the thing yielded some cool finds:

As nanohumans continues work on projects of all sizes, we will share with you our smallest musings.

Willard Wigan creates sculptures on an absurdly small scale -- though not nanosculptures, these tend to fit inside the eye of a needle or on the head of a match. At exhibitions of his work, viewers peer through microscopes. He works in the night, when there are less disturbances, moving his hands under the 'scope between heartbeats. Fascinating in a way that makes my eyes hurt just thinking about it.
